Poles of a Magnet

 The region of a magnet having stronger magnetism is called the pole of a magnet. The magnetic forces are strongest at the two ends of a bar magnet. These ends are called poles of a magnet.

Activity : To identify The Area of Strongest Magnetism

Put some iron fillings on a sheet of paper and roll a bar magnet on it. We will find that most of the iron fillings stick to the magnets at the ends. So we can say that  in the case of a bar magnet The magnetic forces are strongest at the two ends.. These are the poles.
